10,000 Shiftless Nights + 1

Here is a fine documentary about the 1980-81 CFMT (Toronto) television program The All-Night Show. Those of us who remember the show that we also referred to as "Chuck the Security Guard" have fond memories made more wonderful with the passage of time.

Chuck, Ryerson Dupont, Fran the Nurse, Paul del Stud, and the rest, are here in Ten Thousand Shiftless Nights.

Wonderful.

Chuck The Security Guard was utterly incredible. As a night-owl teen when Toronto was unique and had class and character, I thought the approachably absurd candor of "Chuck", the Horror movies and the bizarre various and sundrey (like the animated family in a camper plagued by a boy shrieking "PeePee MOMMY! then being attacked by forest animals and retaliating with firearms ending in the boy plunging his face into a toilet and gurgling "Fellini") was on another level and far ahead of it's time... especially in today's comedic void. Thank you Chas et.al, thank you.

I was in high school at the time, and it was appointment television for a lot of us. TANS allowed me to catch-up on OUTER LIMITS episodes. Thanks for the memories and comment!
