... Me in October of 1985 working on a set build in the Graveyard Shift workshop, which was located in the old Massey Ferguson plant on King Street here in Toronto. It's really a matter of holding the architectural ruler against the blueprint to make sure the calculations are right.
That gig was a lot of fun. And I learned a lot. It's true: You make it work. There's never enough time and money, but somehow it all comes together.
Terrific shop crew: Dave Fiacconi, Chris Leger, and Mark Lang.
Graveyard Shift (1987, released in the US as Central Park Drifter)
Writer and Director: Jerry Ciccoritti
Producers: Robert Bergman, Michael Bockner, Jerry Ciccoritti
Director of Photography: Robert Bergman
Starring: Silvio Oliviero (Michael A. Miranda) and Helen Papas
Postscript: The wrap party was a lot of fun, Executive producer Lester Berman approached me and gave me a firm handshake. Actor Peter Weller was there. I can still picture him sitting on a windowsill, arms and legs crossed, chillin'. I never approached him to strike up a conversation ― unlike what I did years later with Art Hindle after a special screening of David Cronenberg's The Brood at Toronto's Bloor Cinema: "I still think your best movie is Face-Off." He really laughed, and said, "Thanks", then laughed again, and added, "Thanks a lot". (I have no shame.)
