Oh....
The greatest motion picture ever made is Metropolis (1927).

It was time I bought a poster for Fritz Lang's magnificent futuristic opus. I grabbed the mini poster from Amazon then took it to Alternative Arts on Bloor Street, here in Toronto, to have it plaqued. They've done a few jobs for me, one of which was a plaquing of a beautiful old "Cunard" poster, and I've been impressed each time.

Heinz Schulz-Neudamm was the brilliant artist who created the original poster for Metropolis.
Have you seen the 2010 "restored" version made from the print they found in South America? Whole subplots were added back in, that had missing from the versions we had seen for most of our lives. It was really like seeing the film for the first time all over again. My number one movie is already reserved, but Metropolis is in my top 10 for sure.
I have! You and I talked about that one day. You said: "A lot of people peeking from behind newspapers."
Great stuff!
I have the 2010 Kino DVD from that restoration... and the Kino DVD from 2002 of the previous restoration.
In 1984 I trotted off to the Eaton Centre cinemas to see the 'Moroder' version.
No matter what the configuration is, Metropolis transfixes. A friend of mine told me that once he starts watching he's there to the end. Indeed!
