What’s a “Bro Code”?

I’m hearing that term a lot these days.

My most recent experience with the “Bro Code” was on the weekend when I was chatting on the telephone with a friend. There was a lead-up and a pleasant discussion that was resolved with the following:

FRIEND
I wouldn’t steal your girl. That’s not right.

ME
Why not?

FRIEND
It’s the Bro Code, man.
